Steve Has New Blog

-It’s so close, you can almost feel it!

-Hello and good morning. It is the 3rd of November, 2008 – one day before the elections and you can feel the tension in the air … the anticipation of the upcoming day.

-Looking out our back window this morning we have haze and 37 degrees. Color weather radar indicated no rain in the region or in the state for that matter.

-Today’s forecast for our area is:

Partly cloudy. Widespread dense fog in the morning. Visibility one quarter mile or less at times in the morning. Highs 58 to 63. East winds 10 to 15 mph.

If the temperature gets that warm “63″ … this guy will be wearing jean shorts this afternoon. :-)

-My partner, Steve – started a new blog yesterday and published his first post. Congratulations pal … it’s going to be great! The blog is titled “Steve on Sinema” and will be about Steve’s second love:

This blog will take you on a journey with Steve while taking a look at some of the “sinema” that he enjoys most.  As you will learn from this blog over the days, weeks and months ahead, he is a huge movie buff and spends a lot of his free time watching from his collection of over 1,000 DVDs and counting.  Steve enjoys movies from all genres, but has a particular liking to Suspense/Horror flicks, and movies from the 80’s.

So as his blog unfolds, I hope that you would take a journey on over to read it and learn of his interests in movies.

Looks great pal. :-)

-In a telephone call to California voters, President Clinton delivers the following message regarding the unfairness of Proposition 8:

“This is Bill Clinton calling to ask you to vote NO on Proposition 8 on Tuesday, November 4th. Proposition 8 would use state law to single out one group of Californians to be treated differently — discriminating against members of our family, our friends and our co-workers.

“If I know one thing about California, I know that is not what you’re about. That is not what America is about. Please vote NO on 8. It’s unfair and it’s wrong. Thank you.”

The calls from President Clinton went to millions of registered California voters overnight.

-United States Senator Hillary Clinton will be in Duluth on Monday, November 3rd, to campaign for Barack Obama and Al Franken, multiple sources have confirmed.

The New York Senator will be speaking in the Romano Gym at UMD at 3:45 p.m.  This trip will mark the second time Clinton has been to the Northland in the past month.

-This morning I have to give my cousin “Jo” a ride into the hospital for some tests.  She is the one I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that may have pancreatic cancer … the doctor is doing a battery of preliminary tests to determine just exactly what is taking place within her.

Her spirits are good, and she hoping for the best – as am I.

-Steve returns to work this morning, after the two of us had a great weekend together here at home.

It was good to relax and enjoy not only his time off but our time together.

-It was the Vikings’ third victory in the past four games and ended Houston’s three-game winning streak.  Final score Minnesota 28 Houston 21.

Way to go Vikes!

-Things we’ve read…

  • In Tibet it is considered good manners to stick out your tongue at someone.
  • Contrary to popular belief, opossums, squirrels, chipmunks, and mice do not carry rabies.
  • Apotemnophilia is a desire to become an amputee.
  • There are more than 1,000 chemicals in a cup of coffee. Of these, only 26 have been tested, and half caused cancer in rats.
  • By partially filling saucers with vinegar and distributing the saucers around a room, you can eliminate odors.

-So that is the way it is, and this is Monday. A new week, for all of us. I pray it goes well for not only you but for us also.

Don’t forget tomorrow is November 4th, 2008 – Election Day here in the USA – remember to get out and vote for the candidate of your choice.

-Well, I’ve got to get some breakfast and head on out of here. Steve and I wish each of you a good Monday and great work week. Keep smiling, and be good.

-Until next time…
