Diet Shopping Today
-5:24 a.m., and getting out of bed this morning was hard – I am just plain sleepy.
-Cloudy outside this morning ( again ) and only 46 degrees. Color weather radar shows light amounts of rain around various areas of Minnesota, including our back yard.
Today’s weather forecast is: Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of rain showers. Highs 58 to 63. Northwest winds around 5 mph becoming southwest in the late morning and afternoon.
Imagine that … more rain. Now I know what “Noah” in the Bible must have felt like – 40 days and 40 nights of rain along with cool temperatures makes for one crappy spring.
I’ll never see summer at this rate.
-Well my Nutrisystems diet food and materials arrived about 6:40 p.m. last evening – as the UPS man dropped them off. No this UPS man in brown couldn’t do anything for any one – he’s blond – but kind of non-talkative, crabby looking and married.
Everything for my basic meals is there, except for protein meats like chicken, fish, veggies and fruits. So instead of starting the diet today, when I don’t have any of those items in the house – I’ll go through the booklet – see what I need for tomorrow and Friday – then I’ll get a few things at the local grocery store and wait until Steve and I can go the big Walmart grocery store on either Friday or Saturday to get the rest and save some money on top of it.
Every meal is in a color marked container – so it will be easy to see what goes for what meal – breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack.
Tomorrow the work begins, plus walking at least 30 minutes daily as time progresses.
-Steve got home late, as I wrote last night from softball. His team lost their first game last night and won there second (make up) game. We spent about 1 hour together – before it was lights out.
Today … well he goes to work leaving here at 7:15 a.m. and I won’t see him until sometime later this evening … probably around 8:00 p.m. or so. Steve has his second night of “softball” for the week tonight – and then after the game he has to go out to the “bar” with his team because his team manager told him and the other members of the team – that they weren’t supporting their “sponsor” enough – so they’d better get out to the local bar and restaurant tonight.
Me … I’ll be here, same place just a different day. – no big deal.
Tomorrow night – Steve will be gone again – for his second job. He’s got some extra hours coming, I guess – and will leave work around 2:00 p.m. tomorrow to work his second job. He’ll start his second job around 3:00 p.m. and be home around 10:40 p.m. tomorrow night.
So … another week of not seeing him very much – goes by.
-In some “good” news for a change … missing for two of their games, Orlando found its Magic touch.
Making easy shots and tough ones from everywhere, the Magic won their first game in two visits to the NBA finals as Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis scored 21 points apiece in a 108-104 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 3 on Tuesday night to pull within 2-1.
Personally, I’d like to see the magic touch from Orlando send the Los Angeles back home – with a total loss. I’m not a big L A Laker’s fan.
-Here in Minnesota … the Vikings’ pursuit of Brett Favre apparently is about to take a hiatus — at least according to ESPN — after he failed to report to organized team activities.
Personally I hope we don’t get Favre … he’s perhaps good, but far to old – as least for this viewer and fan.
-On a positive note – economic note – Duluth is projected to be one of the 10 best housing markets in America the next 10 years, according to a recent article on the U.S. News and World Report Web site.
The report, using research compiled by Moody’s economy.com, projects that Duluth’s home values will go up 3.7 percent every year for the next decade, which was the sixth-best projection in the country.
Steve’s company is having a big office meeting tomorrow with the boss/owner – I hope for Steve’s sake it is a “positive meeting” and not one where they cut more or even worse – close the doors. Business for his company has been better the last month or so – but certainly not what it was a year ago.
But then, I guess that’s better than expected.
-It’s about 5:47 a.m. now and Steve’s alarm just went off – so he’ll be rolling out of bed in a bit and getting ready for another day at work. As for me … well I’ll be busy reading about my diet plan.
As for you … well, we hope you have a great Wednesday – hump day … remembering that half of the work week is over as of noon today and then your on the downward slide toward the weekend.
Have a great day and be kind … I’ll be “diet shopping today”.
