Fall Back
-It’s the day after the big Halloween parties … Did you have a good time last night? Did you “trick and treat?
We were good boys … we stayed home, watched some television and handed out some candy to a few kids that came by the house.
It was cold and windy night .. and not to many kids were out “trick and treating”.
-30 degrees outside at 5:35 a.m. with mostly overcast conditions. Today, Cloudy. A chance of light rain and light freezing rain early in the morning…then a chance of rain showers in the late morning and afternoon. Highs 40 to 45. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 40 percent.
Color weather radar this morning shows a long narrow band of snow in north central Minnesota .. a little rain in North Dakota and on the east coast – the rest of the nation is looking clear at this hour.
-Steve and I were up kind of early yesterday morning … he had to get an oil change in Duluth, then it was off to Target, Best Buy and Sam’s Club. At Best Buy, Steve got a brand new Blue Ray DVD player that was on sale.
We also spent some time looking a couple new plasma big screen televisions … something he hopes to buy in the near future.
After that, we went to a movie and then had lunch at Old Chicago in Canal Park. Steve went to see the movie “Saw VI” and I believe it or not – went to see Zombieland … simply because there really wasn’t anything else to see – because all the rest of the movies … we’d already seen in the past week or two.
The evening was spent relaxing after the “trick and treaters” left.
“Gifted Male”
-Fall back … An interesting note in today’s Minneapolis Star Tribune says, “Repeated studies have found no conclusive evidence that shifting the clock results in using less energy for electrical lighting or that it increases worker productivity.”
I do have to say I like daylight savings time … but I do dislike the change back in the fall. Now tonight it will be dark at 4:30 p.m. but a bit lighter this morning. I guess one is a trade off for the other.
Check those clocks guys, make sure you have the correct time before you go out and about today.
-Darn it … Those powerful Yankees bats finally broke loose, backing Andy Pettitte in a rain-delayed 8-5 victory over Philadelphia that gave New York a 2-1 Series lead.
I am not a “Yankees” fan at all…
-Although Steve and I will be in Minneapolis next week – we won’t be seeing this performance. The Kiss Alive 35 tour has filled stadiums in Europe and South America (it comes to Target Center Saturday). “Sonic Boom,” Kiss’ first album of new material in 11 years, debuted at No. 2 despite being available only at Wal-Mart. And after being shunted aside for 10 years, the band is finally on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ballot.
Should be an interesting show.
-In sports news…Our Minnesota Vikings take on the Green Bay Packers today at 3:00 p.m.
Brett Favre will run out of the Lambeau Field tunnel wearing purple, and nobody really knows how Green Bay Packers fans will react.
Hopefully fan’s will use “common sense” after all this is just a sport …
-Steve has to work his second job today … as a matter of fact he is up now taking a shower and getting ready to leave home by about 6:30 a.m. this morning. He will be gone most of the entire day, but hopes to be home around 3:15 p.m. just in time for the “kickoff” of the big Vikings and Packers game.
-I’m going to round up some breakfast and read the news on the net .. we wish each of you a great Sunday.
Enjoy!
