Just Another Day
-Hello everyone and good morning. Happy Friday the 13th for all you “superstitious” guys out there.
Some say today is a day of good luck and some say a day of bad luck – I just say … it is Friday and its the 13th. :-)
-Out in our back yard this morning we have 48 cloudy degrees. Today’s northland weather forecast is calling for: Cloudy. A chance of light rain in the morning…then rain in the afternoon. Highs 45 to 50. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
Well I guess that settles it … apparently those guys who forecast think we are going to have “rain”. Imagine that. We had rain all of October .. yikes, more wet.
Color weather radar this morning shows most of the northern half of Minnesota – west of Duluth is having rain at this hour.
-I was just looking at my calendar and it reminded me of the days ahead…
Things I’m ready for:
- Christmas (but I haven’t bought one present as of yet)
- Wearing warmer clothes
- Some hot chocolate over these coming months
- My winter coat
- The annual Thanksgiving Day dinner (i am hoping we go out to eat, instead of my cooking)
Things i’m not ready for:
- Another year (it means I’m just getting that much older)
- Pale skin (from a lack of sunshine here in Minnesota)
- Giving up shorts and T’s … I just hate wearing clothes and especially jeans and sweats
- The wind that sweeps in off that damn big lake – Lake Superior
- The end of Amazing Race (I just love that show)
-Every single morning I got through probably several hundred photographs for the daily blog posting … one thing I’ve come to realize is this:
- Available guys on the net, are getting a lot younger
- Those young guys are really hung
Am I using there photos – heck no – they look like children – or am I really getting older? Hmmm…
-Steve is still in bed, at 5:35 a.m. and will be until about 6:15 a.m. We’ve both come down with colds in our nose and heads. I’m just feeling “stuffed up” and have a runny nose but not to bad otherwise – Steve on the other hand was cold and had chills last night beside the “stuffed up” feeling.
I guess it is that time of year .. .when this crap is going around, and everyone (almost) gets sick. I’ve tried to make sure I’ve washed my hands … but then Steve is in a more public setting, so he sees the public a heck of a lot more than I do…and we kiss, we hug, we embrace … and oh yes..we even consensual sex .. where we really touch once another. I suppose I caught this darn cold from him.
Shame on you!
-Gay marriage foe tied to pro-gay companies. Ford Motor Co. and Reynolds American, two companies that receive consistently high marks from the HRC, have ties with Schubert Flint Public Affairs, the firm that was instrumental in defeating marriage equality in California and Maine.
-Lou Dobbs leaves CNN – no loss. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.
Dobbs slowly became increasingly influenced by crazy right-wing extremists. If there was a conspiracy theorist questioning the president’s birth certificate, a gun-toting protester at an Obama event, or a white firefighter alleging “reverse discrimination,” Dobbs was there to defend them. Or if there was an “illegal immigrant” anywhere in America who didn’t belong here, Dobbs was personally ready to deport them.
To his defenders, he has been a patriot standing up to the powerful “left-wing media” and the “liberal elite” who, they believe, secretly run this country. To his critics, he has been a racist, xenophobe with a dangerously powerful platform on national television. I don’t know if he’s a racist or a xenophobe, or if he even believes in much of what he says on television, but I side more with the critics.
He was a jerk, and certainly not a friend to gay men.
Ok, I’ve already given him to much space on our blog … moving on.
-Minnesota, with a general fund deficit (shortage) of about $1 billion looming, wants to line up a strategy now. They may have to borrow money.
Dumb fools keep building roadways all over the place in the metro area – where do you think those dollars are coming from? Heaven? Heck no!
Get real St. Paul.
-The Minnesota Vikings take on Detroit this Sunday in Minneapolis. My pic – Minnesota, all the way.
-The Hawks come to Boston tonight at 7:00 p.m. cst … we’ll be tuned in and ready for another win. The Hawks are 6 and 2 and the Celtics are 8 and 1 … should be a good game.
-I’m going to find some breakfast…Steve will be up shortly – we hope your Friday the 13th is a good one.
Don’t get all up tight about this Friday the 13th crap…it’s just that…nothingness!
Enjoy! We’ll see you back here tomorrow.

The Amazing Race is one of my favorite shows too. I also like Survivor.
Yes those are both favorites of ours!
